What is the Purpose of CKRF?
The committee meet once a month with members of SAPS and other invited persons such as security company representatives or other community forums to discuss current crime issues in our area. SAPS report on current crime trends, hot spots and activities involving crime. Modus operandi is explained & what actions need to be taken. General services and development issues are also discussed and financials are reviewed.
All information is communicated back to members. ‘Residents’ refers to both domestic residents AND businesses and membership is open to all.
Forum Objectives
- To establish, promote and maintain public participation and private partnership between the community and SAPS.
- To promote effective communicatin and co-operation between SAPS and the community in fulfilment of policing needs.
- To improve the transparency and accountability of SAPS to the community.
- To ensure joint problem indentification and resolution by the SAPS and the community.
- To support and develop projects which will improve the rendering of Police Services.
